Died on Monday 5th July 1943

Born on 22nd February 1914 [Newmarket 3b:857]. Son of Charles Edward and Ada HONEYBUN (née RUSE).
His mother died in 1915 and his father married Elizabeth ROBERTSON in 1920, in Newmarket.

In the 1939 register, at 36 Granby Street, Newmarket were his father [4-6-1875] a master farrier, stepmother Elizabeth [12-7-1872] and sister Evelyn A [8-4-1912] later Mrs TAYLOR.

According to his Japanese PoW card, his stepmother (mother on card) was Elizabeth, he was a labourer.


He was captured at Chancery Lane, Singapore on 154th February 1942 when Singapore was surrendered to the Japanese. He was then put to work on the Siam-Burma railway.
William died dysentery at Tasao, Thailand. Initially buried at Tasoa Camp No 2, he was moved to Kanchanaburi on 1st March 1946.
